Jason has over 25 years’ experience advising clients across a diverse range of industries throughout Australia and internationally about taxation, corporate finance and forensic accounting matters. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a former Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia NSW State Regional Council.

Before establishing JNP Advisory, Jason held senior roles in some of Australia’s leading accounting firms and financial institutions including PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, AXA and Macquarie Bank. Jason’s key strength is his ability to combine technical expertise with extensive experience to deliver superior results, regardless of the size or complexity of the engagement.

Jason’s experience in transaction advisory, specialist valuation and forensic accounting and litigation support services includes:

  • lead advisory roles relating to the sale and acquisition of businesses, merger transactions and capital raisings

  • valuing businesses, intangible assets, intellectual property and professional practices for the purposes of providing advice about succession planning, the acquisition and sale of businesses, commercial litigation, family law disputes, taxation and stamp duty

  • preparing independent expert reports for proceedings in the Federal Court, the Family Courts of Australia and Western Australia and the Supreme Courts of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia in relation to the valuation of businesses, intangible assets, shares and equity, partnership and minority interests; the interpretation of financial documents including the adequacy of financial records and loss of profits arising from breaches of contract; director / shareholder disputes including minority shareholder oppression issues; business viability and solvency; and economic loss relating to personal injury, employment-related disputes, insurance claims and breaches of contract

  • preparing due diligence reports and detailed financial forecasts

  • providing decision-support analysis, strategic asset divestment / acquisition and succession advice.

  • a Business Valuation Specialist - CAANZ

  • a Registered Tax Agent (Registration Number 24783455)

  • an Associate of The Tax Institute

  • a Licensed Real Estate and Business Agent (NSW) (Licence Number 20006578).

Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning). He has completed course work in taxation, law, valuation and finance at the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney. 

Jason’s past appointments include:
